Witchi-Tai-To

Whenever I come out of a sad or rough day/night, I wake up with this urge to listen to some music that I can only describe as "recovery music". The music makes me think of a situation where I was stuck in a state that felt unrecoverable and then I wake up, and I see my pets, my home, the things and people in my life around me that I'm grateful for and I think of a song that can sort of capture those feelings.
The past few times this has happened, the song I thought of when I was coming out of these feelings is "Witchi-Tai-To" by Brewer & Shipley. But today, before I wrote this post, I looked into the history of this song and I found out that it's actually from a peyote healing chant used by the Native American Church. It was sung as part of the spiritual rituals. And initially, Jim Pepper adapted the change into a song around 1969, according to Wikipedia, he had learned the chant from his grandfather.
Below is the version of the song I really like. It has a warm wholesome feel to it for me.
